Our Focus on Sustainable Cardboard Packaging
We take our environmental responsibility very seriously. Most of our packaging is FSC® certified & 100% recyclable. All the wasted and excess boxes manufactured by Tailor Made Packaging are either recycled or re-used. Boxes that we recycle are then utilised to create paper products for various industries that use recycled cardboard.
Cardboard is a fabulous green alternative to polystyrene packaging, which is highly toxic and created with petroleum-based substances. Sustainable cardboard packaging is one of the best packaging solutions that is eco-friendly and has less impact on the environment due to the fact that it is biodegradable.
All of our materials are paper and cardboard-based, and we don’t produce any plastic packaging. We recognise that packaging makes up a significant portion of what is delivered to landfills annually. That’s why we only produce eco-friendly packaging materials as they are renewable and biodegradable.
Polystyrene products alone account for almost thirty percent of landfill capacity worldwide. It is also non-biodegradable, and it will take thousands of years to decompose fully. Sixty percent of all man-made floating material within oceans and rivers are a direct result of the world’s reliance on polystyrene. This is the main reason why companies are now on the lookout for environmentally friendly alternatives for packaging. The best answer lies in offering recycled paper products.
Using recycled cardboard will help our ecosystem in the future. Recycling just one ton of cardboard material could save over fifteen trees. For every ton of cardboard that is recycled you contribute to saving over 26498 litres of water. Sustainable Cardboard packaging is the future to protect our environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes cardboard packaging sustainable?
Corrugated cardboard is made from renewable wood fibre, is widely recyclable and biodegrades naturally. It has a well-established recycling infrastructure across Australia and a significantly lower end-of-life impact than most plastic packaging alternatives.
Is your packaging biodegradable?
Yes. All our corrugated cardboard products are 100% biodegradable and compostable.
Can packaging be made from recycled materials?
Yes. We can source board with recycled fibre content. Tell us your sustainability requirements and we will recommend board grades that meet your targets without compromising strength or performance.
Does sustainable packaging still protect the product?
Yes. Sustainability and performance are not in conflict with corrugated cardboard. Board grade selection, flute profile and structural design determine strength. We design packaging to protect your product first, then optimise for material efficiency.
Can eco-friendly packaging be custom printed?
Yes. Sustainable packaging can be fully printed with branding and product information. You do not have to choose between a strong environmental position and professional brand presentation.
Is cardboard better than plastic for the environment?
For most packaging applications, yes. Cardboard is recyclable through standard kerbside collection, biodegrades naturally and comes from renewable fibre. Plastic is harder to recycle in practice and persists in the environment much longer.
How can businesses reduce packaging waste?
By sizing packaging to the actual product rather than the nearest standard carton. Less void fill, better pallet utilisation and lower freight costs are the practical benefits, along with less material going into the waste stream.
Does sustainable packaging help brand reputation?
It does for many businesses, particularly those selling direct to consumers or supplying retailers that have their own sustainability targets. Packaging is a visible signal of where a brand stands on environmental responsibility.
What certifications does Tailor Made Packaging hold?
We are HACCP Certified for food-safe manufacturing. For specific environmental certifications such as FSC or PEFC, contact us to discuss requirements for your project.
What industries use sustainable cardboard packaging?
Ecommerce, retail, food and beverage, agriculture, wholesale distribution, manufacturing and consumer goods. Most industries now have some level of sustainability expectation from customers or retail partners.
